These are just a few pictures from Sr Gabriele's 95th birthday party when I went to Toronto. She is German by birth, became a US citizen and was transferred to Canada. Sister Gabriele was my formation directress and so spent some trying times with me. Inspite of the struggles and ordeals I put her through, (as we all do when we our negative egos are struggling to survive), Sr Gabriele and I seemed to have grown closer because of them. She saw me for who I really was, which was not always pretty, but she stayed with me through it all and continued to hope. Thus, she has been God's gift for me through her unconditional love and spiritual guidance. She endured the toughest time of my formation, always believing in me. Just to acknowledge them, I have had other sister friends who were a good support later on. Going back to Sr Gabriele, it is through her prayerful support that I have made it so far in my religious commitment. She has been and continues to be my angel here on earth, who prays for me. It is truly a blessing to have been given a kindred spirit on my journey, marvelling at how good God is. I pray that you may all be so blessed as to have such wonderful friendships on your journeys. We all have them, but sometimes we don't take the time to appreciate or acknowledge them. Be grateful for the people God has given you to be part of your life, they are angels who "wear their wings on the inside". (forget where I heard that quote.) I am so grateful for the week I spent with her. Thank you Sr Gabriele.

In the residents dining room where Sr Gabriele normally prefers to
eat with other residents. Three other retired sisters and a priest also
get their meals served here. Now we have Sr Josephine dining here also.
